FAQ

Industrial automation project questions.

Answers about PLC migrations, SCADA work, panel builds, timelines, quoting, on-site commissioning, and support.

How do we get started?

Start with a short call about the machine, process, timeline, and risk. If it is a fit, we usually recommend a focused audit before quoting larger controls or SCADA work.

What information do you need for a quote?

Useful details include PLC platform, HMI or SCADA platform, approximate I/O count, drawings, existing code, site location, required downtime window, safety requirements, and target startup date.

How long does a PLC migration take?

Many PLC migrations take 4 to 12 weeks from audit to startup. Small migrations can be faster; high-risk systems with limited downtime need more planning, simulation, and checkout.

Can you connect PLCs to databases, ERP systems, or dashboards?

Yes. We work with OPC-UA, MQTT, SQL historians, REST APIs, Ignition, FactoryTalk, and custom reporting systems to connect production equipment with business and operations tools.

Do you work on-site or remote?

Both. Design, code review, HMI work, and troubleshooting can often be done remotely. Commissioning, field checkout, panel work, and startup support are usually on-site.

Can you take over an automation project already in progress?

Yes. We start by auditing the existing code, drawings, hardware, risk areas, and missing documentation, then build a practical path to finish commissioning or stabilize the system.

Do you offer ongoing support?

Yes. Support can include remote troubleshooting, planned maintenance, code backups, documentation cleanup, emergency response, operator training, and monthly retainer agreements.
